FAQs – Booking a Spa Facial in Durham
Spa facials focus on relaxation, hydration, and general skin health using gentle, nourishing products. Advanced facials use specialised techniques and formulations (like enzymes, peels, or microneedling) to target specific skin concerns like acne, pigmentation, or ageing.
Most clients notice an immediate improvement in glow and hydration after one facial. However, long-term skin goals typically require a course of treatments. We’ll always guide you through the best plan based on your skin’s condition and goals.
A course will enable you to start seeing progress and results that when maintained can last you a lifetime. Although we will tweak the frequency based on your goals, be prepared that we may need to see you every week or other week for 6/7 treatments, after this initial course we would then consider monthly maintenance.
Yes, many of our facials are specifically designed for sensitive or reactive skin. We offer gentle treatments that support the skin barrier and reduce inflammation without causing irritation.
During this time, you may feel a pulsing sensation – this is the effect of the enzymes at work as they help circulate blood and oxygen through your cells.
Over the course of your treatment, the mask will set hard and you’ll feel your skin actively tightening, you won’t be able to talk easily, and you may feel some downward pressure and this can feel strange. Your therapist will be in the room with you the whole time.
These facials are treatments in every sense of the word – they are not for a “bit of pampering” they are for clients who want results.
This depends on your skin concerns and goals. For general maintenance, every 4–6 weeks is ideal. If you’re on a corrective skin plan (e.g. for acne or pigmentation), we may recommend more frequent sessions initially. DMK facials are recommended every 2 weeks for a course and LED would be as often as possible.
